Agricultural Spraying Equipment Comes in All Sizes to Meet Farming Needs

Farming doesn’t end with planting the seedlings. It goes for a few months, depending on the crop, before harvest. In between planting and harvesting, a farmer takes good care of his crops by spraying herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers.

Agricultural spraying equipment is used to deliver these vital farming substances to the crops so they will grow to their fullest potential, get rid of pests, and get rid of unwanted weeds.

Different Sizes to Fit Farming Needs

If you are a farmer, there are several options to consider when choosing agricultural spraying equipment. They can be as portable as backpack to tractors with mounts:

•    Backpack sprayers- these are simple sprayers with very few working parts. The backpack sprayer usually has a capacity of 2-4 gallons.  It is designed for comfort since farers will be strapping it on their shoulders and back. They usually come with a wand with adjustable tip to direct the spray.

•    Spot sprayer- Normally comes in 15-60 gallon tanks. They vary in filter systems, power of the pump, and spraying capabilities

•    Hay Sprayer- This comes with bigger tanks and a pump which can spray around 2 gallons of chemicals per minute. They are usually mounted on tractors or pick ups.

•    A 3-point hitch sprayer is like a hay sprayer but comes with heavy duty mounts.

•    Row Crop Trailer Sprayer- this agricultural spraying equipment can carry hundred to thousands of gallons of liquid. They come with varying power pumps, controls, and meters for optimal performance.

The method of spraying pesticide or fertilizer have been said to be inefficient. A lot of the substance is wasted due to run off from the plants or drifting to the soil. This is usually resolved by using appropriate atomisers and formulating the correct mix of water and substance properly.

High Technology Spraying

Agricultural spraying equipment has made great leaps in terms of efficiency in recent years. Used in tandem with global positioning equipment or GPS, farmers can now efficiently cover the whole field faster and accurately.

These spraying systems can actually make spraying faster and more accurate by intelligently adapting to changes on the height or elevation of the soil. Some gadgets can also help detect growth of unwanted weeds on the field.

These innovations decreases stress on farmers. It also prevents early wear and tear of the equipment used. The gadgets basically maps out the field and monitors precisely the areas that have been covered and avoids those which have been sprayed on.

Other systems can even turn on and off the sprayers automatically, aid farmers in steering, store data, and get information about the weather from the internet. GP
